Interior Design Advice - £250 for up to 2 hours

Open-plan living can transform a home, but bringing a kitchen, dining and living space together successfully involves more than simply creating one large room.

If you are planning an extension or already have drawings or layouts from an architect, kitchen or bathroom supplier, Interior Design Advice gives you the opportunity to have the proposals reviewed from the perspective of how the finished space will actually work.

We can look at layout, circulation, furniture placement, lighting and practical considerations, including how existing furniture, windows and awkward architectural features can be incorporated successfully. For extensions and open-plan spaces, this can also include considering natural light, glazing and the impact of large areas of glass or rooflights throughout the year.

We can also review key design decisions such as flooring, tiles, cabinetry, worktops, sanitaryware and the positioning of elements such as baths and showers.

The service can be used to review kitchen or bathroom plans, extension and open-plan layouts, or other areas of your home where you would value an experienced second opinion before committing.

The aim is to sense-check what has been proposed, identify anything that may have been overlooked and give you greater confidence that the decisions you are making will work together before work begins.

Depending on your project, we can review:

• kitchen and bathroom plans
• extension and open-plan layouts
• furniture placement, circulation and working around existing pieces
• windows, glazing and natural light
• lighting positions and practical considerations
• flooring, tiles and other key finishes
• kitchen cabinetry and worktop choices
• sanitaryware and the positioning of baths, showers and other bathroom elements
• how different elements of the scheme work together
• any particular design decisions you would like a second opinion on

How it works

Before the appointment, you can send over any relevant plans, drawings, layouts or images, together with your most pressing questions or decisions. This allows me to understand the project in advance and make the best use of our time together.

The consultation takes place in your home and lasts up to two hours. We work through your questions and plans together, focusing on the areas where you would most value reassurance or an independent view.

This is an advice-based service rather than a full interior design service. It is intended to review and sense-check existing plans, layouts and design decisions rather than develop a new scheme. Detailed drawings, sourcing and a developed design scheme are not included.
